World Series of Darts' Hamilton visit rescheduled for 2022
The PDC’s World Series of Darts will now return to Hamilton in 2022, when the New Zealand Darts Masters is held at the Claudelands Arena.
Due to the ongoing global situation, the decision has been made to move the planned NZ Darts Masters back 12 months to be staged on August 26-27 2022.
The sport's top stars, set to include world number one Gerwyn Price and former World Champions Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright, will take on leading players from Oceania as the PDC's World Series of Darts returns to Hamilton as part of a three-week spectacle of top-class darts action Down Under.
Van Gerwen is the current holder of the New Zealand Darts Masters title, having defeated Raymond van Barneveld in the final of the first ever PDC tournament held in Hamilton in 2019, with the World Series previously having visited Auckland from 2015-2018.
The New Zealand Darts Masters will begin on Friday August 26 2022 with the first round, as the eight PDC representatives take on the eight Oceanic representatives.
The tournament then reaches its climax on Saturday August 27 with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.
Tickets purchased for the planned 2020 and 2021 tournaments will be valid for the equivalent session of the new 2022 event, or be eligible for a refund. Ticket holders can get further information from their point of purchase.
