Frequently Asked Questions

No self-catering or beverage is permitted due to our exclusive arrangement with Montana Food and Events. Montana Food and Events look after all food and beverage onsite. They supply all the servery staff, catering items and in terms of bar service can hold a tab, subsidy, or purchase bar onsite. Their liquor licence runs until 12.30am, with guests needing to have vacated the venue by 1am. As part of their Liquor Licence substantial catering needs to accompany any alcoholic beverage purchased.

Montana Food and Events offer a wide range of menu planners or can provide custom menus. Please chat to our team about your menu requirements.

Yes you can bring your own cake for any celebration for a service fee, please contact us for more information.

There are a few options available with Venue Hire at The Grandstand. Our standard rates are for a half day (up to six hours) or a full day (up to 12 hours) and we normally recommend a full day hire if you have sufficient decorations to put in place. Please contact us for accurate pricing details.

There is specific pricing available for children under the age of 13 years.

For private functions the price points to consider when working to a budget include charges for venue hire, bond, security, food and beverage.

Eftpos is the only available form of payment, cash is not accepted.

Your venue hire includes the assistance of a Function Coordinator who helps with the finer details of your planning and works with our suppliers on your behalf. Also, all furniture set to the floor plan of your choice, car park, cleaning and utilities, Duty Manager on event day, and full exclusive use of the venue. The venue also includes limited Wi-Fi, an in-house audio system with 2x wireless microphone and AUX cable so you can simply plug in a device for your chosen music provider. To note, the audio system does have a volume limiter however you are welcome to hire and bring in a band or DJ of your choice.

We do not provide any theming or decorations however you are more than welcome to bring your own and decorate the space to suit your budget, style and theme. Any decorations, styling, and entertainment are at your own choice and expense and must be set up and removed during your chosen hire period.

The Grandstand has a shut down period which normally runs for two weeks from Christmas Day. Public holidays and dates throughout our Christmas/New Year shutdown period will incur a surcharge. There is no difference in pricing for day of the week or timing throughout the year.

For any events with alcohol consumption we will require a minimum of one security guard for the duration of your function only. The Grandstand team will organise this on your behalf but you will be charged a per hour rate. This is a health and safety requirement and is worked out on a case by case basis. 

Our team is very aware of these uncertain times and will assist you every step of the way. We offer flexible booking and postponement options and will work with you to find the best possible solution for your event. 

Our catering partner Montana Food & Events have adjusted their serving methods and developed a menu range to make it simple and convenient for you and your guests. Catering staff will ensure to sanitise, wear masks and keep their distance where possible. As you have exclusively hired the venue your guests are welcome to move about the venue whilst eating and drinking.

We have worked closely with audio-visual specialists Vidcom to provide technology options enabling online video-conferencing capability at the Grandstand. Vidcom can also provide any additional lighting and audio visual requirements and are our preferred AV partners.

Our venue has tools in place for quick, easy and robust contact tracing for all people on site, including for your events.

We have increased our frequency and intensity of venue and equipment cleaning, and have added extra hand sanitiser and tissue stations throughout the venue.

We are displaying Ministry of Health and venue-specific messaging throughout the venue to remind everyone who comes on site of the importance of personal health and hygiene

  • If you are feeling unwell, have visited a place of interest and are required to self-isolate, are waiting on test results, are a close contact of a person confirmed to have Covid-19 or have been diagnosed with Covid-19 please stay home
  • Please maintain a 1m physical distance from people you don't know while at the venue
