This is event showcases a variety of cars throughout our exhibition halls. There will also be a section outside where different demonstrations will be held throughout the day. During which time loud car noises will occur and are restricted to the timings as below,

Foodstuffs Expo
Wednesday, 5 March – Thursday, 6 March 2025
The Foodstuffs Expo is New Zealand’s largest B2B food show which welcomes over 6,000 attendees across two days. During the event there will be an Awards Evening held on Wednesday, 5 March at Claudelands Oval.
Noise Management
The nature of this event means noise levels relating to general activities will be exceeded on site during the below dates for the event and while soundcheck is being conducted, here are the key timings:
Tuesday, 4 March, Soundcheck – 5.30pm– 8.00pm
Wednesday, 5 March, Soundcheck – 2.00pm – 5.00pm, Event commences from 5:30pm - 11:00pm

Balloons Over Waikato ZURU Nightglow
Saturday, 22 March 2025
We’re excited to announce the return of Balloons Over Waikato ZURU Nightglow on Saturday, 22 March 2025 at Claudelands Oval. The event will run from 4.00pm – 9.00pm. There is a rain date scheduled for Sunday, 23 March, and all below timings will be applied to the rain date.
We are expecting a large crowd to this event. The surrounding areas will be busy. The 2025 ZURU Nightglow will still operate as a FREE event. To manage capacity limits, ALL patrons wishing to attend must secure their spot by obtaining a FREE ticket at Ticketek.co.nz

Noise Management

Saturday, 22 March, Event – Gates open 4.00pm, Entertainment from 5:00pm - 9:00pm

Fireworks
A pyrotechnic display will follow the Nightglow. This will take place at approximately 8.15pm for approximately 5 minutes. We recommend you keep pets/animals indoors or secured while the display is on.
Traffic management and parking restrictions
Given the expected high numbers of spectators for the ZURU Nightglow at Claudelands Oval, a Traffic Management Plan will be implemented to consider the heavy volume of foot traffic around the venue.
Resident access is affected by these closures:
Residents of Brooklyn Road - Limited Access Times
Brooklyn Road & Heaphy Terrace will be closed from approximately 2:00pm - 11:00pm Saturday, 22 March. Please be aware that due to heavy foot traffic, you may need escorting to your property with speed limit not to exceed 20kph and hazard lights used on all occasions, the best access for residents is from Pearson Ave. The road closure is likely to be lifted at approximately 9.30pm or when crowd numbers have diminished enough that it is deemed safe to open.
The following roads are closed on Saturday 22 March:
Brooklyn Road from Heaphy Terrace to Five Crossroads from approximately 2pm until 11pm
Boundary Road from Heaphy Terrace to Five Crossroads from approximately 6pm until 11pm
Heaphy Terrace from Boundary Road to Brooklyn Road from approximately 2pm until 11pm
Thames Street from Kitchener Street to Heaphy Terrace from approximately 2pm until 11pm
Stanley Street from Oakley Street to Heaphy Terrace from approximately 2pm until 11pm
Piako Road from Kitchener Street to Heaphy Terrace from approximately 2pm until 11pm
O’Neill Street from George Street to Heaphy Terrace from approximately 2pm until 11pm
Claudelands Bridge from Victoria Street top Grey Street from approximately 9pm until 11pm
Boundary Road from Victoria Street to Heaphy Terrace from approximately 9pm until 11pm (East bound only)
No Parking - Nightglow
To accommodate the Park’n Ride bus parking and pick up / drop off zones, the Balloons Over Waikato Trust has applied to Hamilton City Council for the following controlled No Parking areas for Saturday, 22 March, enforceable from 2.00pm:
Brooklyn Road from Five Crossroads to Heaphy Terrace Intersection
Boundary Road from Five Crossroads to Heaphy Terrace
Heaphy Terrace from Boundary Road to Heaphy Terrace
Thames Street from Kitchener Street to Heaphy Terrace
Stanley Street from Oakley Street to Heaphy Terrace
Piako Street from Kitchener Street to Heaphy Terrace
O’Neil Street from George Street to Heaphy Terrace
Kitchener Street from Thames Street to Piako Road
Gillies Avenue, first 100m from Brooklyn Road Intersection

Parking
A paid parking option is available in Claudelands Park, entry through the Settlement Centre gate off Boundary Road.
Street cleaning and security
Security and cleaning contractors will be monitoring the streets around the Events Centre during and after the event.
