SKY CITY Breakers to play Regular Season Match in Hamilton

The SKYCITY Breakers will play their first Australian NBL regular season game in Hamilton Friday 21 December at Claudelands Arena. The round 10 fixture, against the Illawarra Hawks, will be the four-time champion's third visit to the "Tron', the previous fixtures having been pre-season warm up matches.

'We are thrilled to be heading down State Highway One to Hamilton for this game,' states SKY CITY Breakers General Manager, Dillon Boucher. 'Waikato is a strong basketball region with some of the leading secondary school teams in New Zealand and lots of dedicated SKY CITY Breakers fans.'

The game is being run in partnership with Waikato Country Basketball Association (WCBA), who caters for basketball outside of Hamilton City. General Manager Jeff Green noted that the visit by the team will include more than just the game. 'We are excited to be bringing New Zealand's only fully professional basketball team to Waikato and to be able to show all the young and old basketball players and supporters what the best in the country look like. We are also grateful to the NZ Breakers management for working with us to present game tickets and a full coaching session for 500 lucky Waikato Country Basketball Junior players on the Saturday morning after the match.' Key towns in the WCBA territory include: Taumarunui, Te Kuiti, Tokoroa, Morrinsville, Cambridge and Te Awamutu.

Green noted that they were very appreciative of local Events Management Company 37 South Events, in supporting WCBA's role and taking responsibility for many of the local operational and marketing roles. 'Without Dallas and 37 South we would have struggled to bring this match to town, they have formed a great partnership with us.'

37 South Managing Director, Dallas Fisher, said, 'being able to work with Jeff and his team at Waikato Country Basketball is one of the key reasons why we exist. We want to bring significant events; sport, music and cultural to Waikato and make full use of our wonderful facilities.'

The match goes on sale to the Breakers Nation from Monday 29th October with public ticket access from 9am Wednesday 31st October via www.ticketek.co.nz, Ph. 0800 842 538 and all Ticketek Outlets,
